I believe in non-judgment, insight, and action
I began my career in this field as a therapist in a residential treatment center, where I worked with folks who struggled with co-occurring substance use and mental health issues. The experiences from that time helped me to understand how important non-judgment and compassion truly are.
As a result of those types of experiences and trainings in DBT, CBT, and EMDR, I prioritize meeting people where they are in their journey and working together to begin creating their vision of a meaningful life, not my own. Because insight often requires action, I encourage and challenge my clients to engage in practicing what is discussed in a session in order to make it real in their lives.
I work with individuals from all walks of life; I welcome all spiritual beliefs, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
I believe we are all looking to create our best life.
That is the central view from which I approach others.
